The Army Surgeon General’s study of soldiers’ and Marines’ abuse of Iraqi civilians and other serious ethical problems was reported by the press a few weeks ago. That coverage addressed only a small part of the surgeon general’s findings and conclusions – the most important of which talked about what leads our troops to behave in such ways.
